I
have a love affair with paper. I collect paper like a freak.
Ephemera too. And postage stamps. I have a vast collection of old
stamps. It's kind of nerdy - but there you go. The secret is
finally out. I'm a nerd. Oh yeah, I've got some old comic books
too. And magazine cut-outs. And pieces of this and
that.
I
like to paste things.
I
like to add glitter too.
I
like to make little books and journals. The books and journals I
make are meant to be written in. And I hope you do.
Writing in a journal is important to me. I used to
keep a journal every day. I need to get back into the habit. It's
a good and healthy habit. Write about your day. Your adventures.
Your trials and tribulations. Your secrets. Desires. Wishes.
Dreams. Hopes. Longings. Loves. Hates. Hangups. Goals. Sad stuff.
Happy stuff. Moments to be remembered.
My
little books and journals are made in various ways. I generally
use Davey board as the understructure. If I don't have have
hardboard, I make it! I glue decorative paper to the
understructure. I add several signatures and bind. I employ many
techniques in the making of my books. Each one is
unique.
The
following example is my most recent endeavor. I used a single
needle Coptic stitch for the binding.

Here are some more examples of books that I have
made.

Several styles.

I
also make altered books.

Greeting cards too.

And mixed-media collage.
